We are often approached for our students to appear in Cabaret, Charity Shows, TV, etc. We will always help with this where possible. Special classes are also part of our curriculum with guest teachers being invited along to take master classes at the studios.

The dance school, under the present principal, was opened in 1967 with 30 pupils in Saltaire. A year later we moved to Victoria Hall. As the number expanded, we moved to premises in Commercial Street , Shipley, and in 1991 we moved to our present spacious studios in John Street, just off Saltaire Road.

What is our aim?
To bring high quality teaching to all our pupils and students. We care about the standard of individuals, and have as much enthusiasm with those who find it difficult as we do with the most talented. As teachers, we must try to get the best out of everyone. Within our ranks, we have a wealth of talent and encourage those with a natural flair to aim for the highest standards possible. Most of our business is recommended- a sure indication of the standards and enjoyment offered at our studios.
Examinations
We have had lots of successful examination results in Dance and Drama. Many of our pupils have been offered Scholarship Nominations and over the years a large number have received Scholarships. In addition, we have had many Scholarships awarded by The Yorkshire Ballet Seminars.
Productions
Each year part of the school will be in a full production of Dance and Drama. Pupils are encouraged to take part but this is not compulsory. We appreciate the trauma caused to some youngsters if too much pressure is exerted upon them.
Drama Festivals
All drama pupils are encouraged to take part. The experience is invaluable for their training and we have had many successful entries in the past.

Drama Classes
Under the LAMDA syllabus we cover all fields of drama from improvisation to script, to help stimulate students' imaginations and increase their confidence. We study the basics of theatre and performance work from characterizations to voice projection and introduce varied methods of working from solo pieces to large group work. Above all we try to ensure that all drama classes are fun for everyone, regardless of their age and ability.

This is by invitation only. If you require information on this please speak to a member of staff. The course offers dance and drama classes over a 12-class period per week. This is available for those who require a more in-depth knowledge of their chosen subjects. The standard of entry is very high. Keep practicing and see if you can make the grade.
